Connect Apple Health, Health Connect, Strava or Intervals.icu and your activities arrive on their own, with the photos you took during each one already matched to it. You can also create an activity by hand or import a FIT file.

What Premium changes is how much you can make in a given window, whether the ActivArt mark stays on the result, and a handful of extras like custom logos and the 3D map view.
Most people start by transforming a photo. You open a run, a ride, a hike or a gym session, pick one of the photos ActivArt matched to it, and choose a style. The generated image keeps the moment recognisable while changing the medium, so a phone snapshot from a wet Tuesday becomes something worth posting. Your pace or your distance can sit inside the scene rather than on a sticker above it.
The second path needs no photo. Plenty of workouts happen without anyone taking a picture, and the indoor ones almost never get photographed. ActivArt can build the scene from the activity type and your saved visual choices, then put the real numbers from that session into it. Free creations carry the ActivArt mark, and the share sheet arrives with a caption already written. Both come off with Premium. Everything else about the image, the resolution included, is identical on either plan.
The allowance is a rolling window rather than a monthly reset, so it refills gradually instead of all at once on the first of the month. Hitting the limit is not a dead end and it does not cost you anything you already made. The app tells you when the next creation is available and can notify you then.
Generation happens on our servers, so an AI image needs a working connection. Route and elevation videos render on the phone itself and work offline once the activity has synced. Those videos also use their own separate free allowance, which is why heavy video weeks do not leave you without images.

Generating an image costs us real money every time, so a free allowance only works if it belongs to an account. Without a sign-in there is no way to tell one person from a hundred fresh installs, and the honest response to that would be a much stingier free plan or no free plan at all. The sign-in is what pays for the generous one.
It is a single tap with Google or Apple. There is no email confirmation loop, no password to invent and no payment method attached. It also means your saved style, your history and your allowance follow you to a new phone rather than disappearing with the old one.
