Getting started

Recommended setup to get the most out of ActivArt:
  1. Connect your training device to Intervals.icu (Garmin, Wahoo, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Amazfit, Huawei Health, Zwift, Hammerhead, and many more). Intervals.icu is free and gives ActivArt the richest activity data.
  2. Link Intervals.icu to Strava to unlock one-tap deep-linking inside ActivArt: your finished photo opens right on the activity in the Strava app, ready to attach.
  3. Open ActivArt and sign in. Your activities appear automatically.

Want your Strava club crests as logo overlays? That needs Strava connected directly as your source in ActivArt; with Intervals.icu you can use your Intervals.icu group logos instead. Need the click-by-click version? See the step-by-step setup guide below.

Step-by-step setup: connect your device and Strava

This routes your hardware through Intervals.icu (a free activity hub) and then on to Strava, so ActivArt gets the richest stats and a one-tap jump from your finished photo back to the activity on Strava.

  1. Create a free Intervals.icu account. Go to intervals.icu and sign up. No payment details needed.
  2. Connect your training device. Open intervals.icu/settings/connections. The page shows one card per brand. Find your hardware and click its card to connect and authorize:
    • Garmin → the Connect card (top-left).
    • Or Wahoo, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Amazfit, Huawei Health, Zwift, Hammerhead, ROUVY, MyWhoosh, Biketerra, Concept2 and many more, each its own card.
Make sure "Download activities → All activities" is enabled so your workouts flow in.
  3. Connect Strava. On the same Connections page, open the Strava card. Connect and log in, enable "Download activities", then turn on "Keep non-Strava activities in sync with Strava" so the activities from your device also land on Strava. This is what unlocks one-tap deep-linking in ActivArt: your finished photo opens right on the activity in the Strava app.
  4. Open ActivArt and connect. Sign in, then connect Intervals.icu. (Prefer your Strava club crests as logo overlays? Connect Strava directly instead.) The first sync takes a couple of minutes, so reopen the app or pull-to-refresh if your activities aren't there yet.
Why is Intervals.icu the recommended source?
Intervals.icu is the most flexible activity hub on the market. It's free, and it doesn't record activities itself: you first connect the device or platform you already train with (Garmin, Wahoo, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Zwift, and more) and it collects everything in one place. With Intervals.icu in the middle you get the richest stats (power, heart rate zones, training load, accurate elevation) and the best photo matching, and once you link it to Strava, a one-tap jump from your finished photo to the activity on Strava.
Which devices and platforms work with Intervals.icu?
Intervals.icu connects to virtually every major training device and platform: Garmin, Wahoo, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Amazfit, Huawei Health watches and bike computers, Hammerhead head units, the indoor platforms Zwift, ROUVY, MyWhoosh, Biketerra, Concept2 rowing machines, and even FIT-file import via Dropbox. Set this up once at intervals.icu/settings/connections, or follow the full step-by-step guide.
I use a Garmin / Wahoo / Polar. Which card do I click?
On the Connections page each brand has its own card. Garmin users click the Connect card (top-left); Wahoo, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Amazfit, Huawei Health, Hammerhead, Zwift and Concept2 users each click the card with their brand. Click it, log in, authorize, and enable "Download activities". See the step-by-step guide.
Does ActivArt work with my Suunto, Amazfit, or Huawei watch?
Yes. Connect the Suunto, Amazfit, or Huawei Health card on Intervals.icu's Connections page and enable "Download activities". Every workout your watch records then flows into ActivArt automatically, ready for photo matching and AI art.
I ride indoors on Zwift, ROUVY, or MyWhoosh. Does ActivArt work?
Yes. Zwift, ROUVY, MyWhoosh, and Biketerra all connect to Intervals.icu, so your indoor rides appear in ActivArt like any outdoor activity. Take a mid-ride screenshot or a pain-cave selfie and ActivArt will match it to the ride, or use "Generate from activity type" to create art with no photo at all.
Do I connect my device or Strava first?
Connect your device first so your workouts are flowing into Intervals.icu, then connect Strava and enable "Keep non-Strava activities in sync with Strava". That order makes sure your device activities also reach Strava. Full walkthrough: step-by-step setup.
I just connected Intervals.icu. Why don't I see my activities yet?
When you first connect Intervals.icu, syncing can take a few minutes. Wait a couple of minutes, then close and reopen the app. You can also pull-to-refresh on the activities list.
What is ActivArt?
ActivArt turns your fitness activities into stunning AI-powered art. It automatically finds the photos in your gallery taken during your workouts, applies your chosen artistic style, embeds your real stats, and lets you share the result anywhere.
Which activity sources are supported?
Intervals.icu (recommended), Strava, Google Health Connect (Android), and Apple Health (iOS).
Do I need a Strava account?
No, ActivArt works fully without one. Linking your Intervals.icu account to Strava adds one-tap deep-linking: your finished photo opens right on the activity in the Strava app, ready to attach. Strava club crests as logo overlays need Strava connected directly as your activity source; Intervals.icu users can use their Intervals.icu group logos instead.
What if I only use Apple Health or Google Health Connect?
ActivArt works fine. Photo matching is fully supported, but stats overlays may be less detailed and Strava-specific features won't be available. For the richest stats, route your training device through the Intervals.icu setup.

Importing activities and images

How do I import images into ActivArt?

You have two options:

  1. Import from inside an activity. Open the activity, tap Add photo beside Original photos, choose Import from gallery, and select one or more images. ActivArt adds and selects them for that activity.
  2. Share from another app. In Photos, your gallery, or another app that shares images, select one or more images, tap Share, and choose ActivArt. When ActivArt opens, select an existing activity or tap Create a new activity from this image.

If you create a new activity from a workout screenshot or card, ActivArt reads supported details such as the activity type, time, distance, elevation, heart rate, and calories on your device, then opens the activity editor so you can review the result. If it cannot identify the activity type, you must choose one before saving.

What happens to a route shown in an imported image?
ActivArt detects route graphics in imported images and asks the image transformation to preserve them. A route pictured in an image has no GPS coordinates, so it cannot power GPS-route or elevation videos. Import the activity's FIT file when you need the real route and elevation data.
How do I import a FIT activity file?
  1. Export the activity as a .fit file from your watch, bike computer, or training service.
  2. In ActivArt, open the Home menu and tap Import FIT activity. If you have no activities yet, the same button appears directly on Home.
  3. Select the file. ActivArt creates a new activity with every supported value present in it, including the GPS route, elevation profile, and available workout statistics.

On Android or iOS, you can also select a FIT file in Files or Downloads, choose Open with or Open in, and select ActivArt.

What data can ActivArt import from a FIT file?
ActivArt imports every supported field that the file contains: activity type and start time; elapsed and moving time; distance; elevation gain and highest elevation; average and maximum speed; average and maximum heart rate; calories; cadence; average, weighted, and maximum power; temperature; pool length and length count; training load; energy in kilojoules; start location; GPS route; and elevation profile. Missing fields stay empty rather than being invented.
Can a FIT file add data to an existing activity?
Yes. Open the existing activity and tap the file-import icon in the top bar, then select the FIT file. ActivArt always shows Review FIT import before changing anything. Check only the details, times, statistics, route, or elevation values you want, then tap Overwrite selected data. Cancel leaves the activity unchanged.
Is imported FIT data uploaded?
No. FIT files and the activity values read from them are processed and stored locally on your device. ActivArt prevents the same FIT activity from being imported as a new activity twice.

Creating art

How does ActivArt find my activity photos?
ActivArt looks at the time window of each activity and scans your phone's gallery for photos whose capture timestamp falls inside that window. All done locally. No photos leave your phone until you trigger processing.
Can I add a photo that wasn't taken during the activity?
Yes. Inside an activity, tap Add photo, choose Import from gallery, and pick any photo. You can also share the image to ActivArt from another app and choose the activity it belongs to.
What if I didn't take any photos during the workout?
Use "Generate from activity type" to create a new artistic scene from scratch using your activity type, style preferences, and real stats.
What artistic styles can I choose from?
Seven styles: cinematic realism, oil painting, neon synthwave, comic book, watercolour, vintage film, and bold graphic poster. Plus camera angle and environment choices.
How does the stats overlay work?
Enable the stats overlay in settings and pick your metrics. ActivArt composites your real numbers onto the finished image as a proper overlay, always accurate and readable.
Can I save my style so I don't have to set it every time?
Yes. All your style preferences are saved during onboarding and applied automatically to every new creation.

Videos

Can ActivArt generate AI videos?
Yes. Under AI Video, Create from a blank canvas generates directly from your activity type and saved visual choices, with no photo required. Transform with AI turns one selected original or generated photo into motion. Free members get a limited allowance and Premium includes more. The Membership page shows your current usage and reset time. See how both AI video options work.
How do I create an AI video without a photo?
Open an activity, tap Generate, then choose Create from a blank canvas under AI Video. ActivArt uses your activity type and saved choices for framing, athlete appearance, gear, scenery, weather, time of day, lighting, mood, style, colour palette, and any custom visual note. If stats are enabled, it also uses the selected figures, labels, placement, and look. The result uses a portrait canvas.
What do the two AI Video actions do?
Create from a blank canvas builds a portrait clip from your activity and visual choices, so it does not need a starting image. Transform with AI uses one selected original or generated photo as a visual reference while applying the selected style, effects, activity controls, and stats directly to the video. The upload is not forced to become the first frame, and the source orientation is retained. A detected selfie keeps its identity and facial features. The complete operation uses one AI video allowance.
What is a GPS route video?
A cinematic animation of your route. Your GPS track draws live across the map, with your activity photos placed at the exact moment they were taken.
What is an elevation profile video?
The elevation profile builds frame by frame as the video plays, showing every climb and descent dramatically.
Can I share videos to Instagram, TikTok, and Strava?
Yes. Videos render as standard MP4 files at 1080×1920, ready for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Strava posts.

Logos & branding

How do I add a custom logo?
Go to Settings → Logos, then add up to 10 logos. Choose a corner for each; they're applied automatically to every AI creation.
Can I use my Strava club logos?
Yes, when Strava is connected directly as your activity source: ActivArt lists the crest of every club you've joined, one tap to add. Using Intervals.icu as your source? Your Intervals.icu group logos show up the same way.
Can I share a logo with a teammate or club?
Yes. In Settings → Logo Overlays, tap the Share button next to any logo. ActivArt uploads the logo and creates a link you can send through any messaging app. When the other person opens it, ActivArt adds the logo straight into their own logo slots. If they don't have ActivArt yet, the link shows the logo with download buttons for the App Store and Google Play.
How long does a shared logo link stay valid?
Shared logo links stay valid for at least 24 hours after the last time someone imports the logo. Each import slides the expiry forward by another 24 hours, so an actively shared logo keeps working; once nobody has imported it for 24 hours the link expires and the logo is deleted from our servers. Sharing the same logo again simply creates a fresh link, and sharing an identical logo while a link is still active reuses the same link.
Can I remove the ActivArt watermark?
Premium members can hide the optional ActivArt brand watermark. Machine-readable AI provenance metadata remains in generated images; it is not a visible watermark. Learn about AI transparency.

Notifications & automation

How do new-activity notifications work?
Whenever a new activity arrives, ActivArt sends you a notification. Tap it to jump straight into the activity and start creating.
What is auto-processing?
A Premium feature: ActivArt can automatically generate art from random photos as soon as a new activity arrives.
Can I turn notifications off?
Yes. Toggle notifications in Settings, or in your phone's system notification controls for ActivArt.

Sharing

How do I share my finished art?
Every creation has a Share button. Tap it to send to Instagram, WhatsApp, Messages, Strava, email, or any app that accepts photos or videos.
Can I add my AI photos to my Strava activity?
Yes. Every creation saves to your gallery; tap "Open in Strava" and the Strava app opens right on that activity, where you can attach the photo in a couple of taps.
Can I open the original activity in Strava?
Yes. From any activity in ActivArt, tap "Open in Strava".

Troubleshooting

My new activity isn't showing up in ActivArt.
If you just connected Intervals.icu, syncing can take a few minutes. Wait, then close and reopen ActivArt. You can also pull-to-refresh.
ActivArt isn't finding any photos for my activity.
Check: photos were taken during the activity on this phone, phone date/time is correct, and gallery permission is granted to ActivArt.
Photos are matching the wrong activity, or look off-by-an-hour.
Almost always a time-zone or clock-mismatch issue. Check that your phone and recording device both have the correct time zone set to automatic.
AI generation failed. What now?
Most failures are temporary. Try again. If it keeps failing, please contact support with the activity name and roughly when it happened.
