How to share your workout photos on Instagram and TikTok

Updated August 20, 2026 · 5 min read · By Joao Silva

You did the work; the post should do it justice. Whether it is a long run, a big ride, or a gym session, here is how to turn your workout photos into content that looks great and actually gets discovered on Instagram and TikTok.

Start with vertical

Instagram Reels, Stories, and TikTok are all built for 9:16 vertical. Create from a blank canvas, GPS route video, and elevation video use portrait output. Transform with AI keeps the source photo orientation, so begin with a portrait photo when you want that video to fill a vertical feed.

Step 1: Create something worth sharing

Turn a photo from the session into AI art with your stats built in, then animate that artwork into a short AI video. If the shape of the effort matters more than the artwork, make a GPS route or elevation video instead. Each gives people more to stop on than a flat camera-roll shot.

Step 2: Use a caption that helps you get found

Hashtags are how new people discover your post. When you share from ActivArt, a short branded caption with relevant hashtags is pre-filled into the share sheet, so your post is discoverable without you typing anything. You can always edit or add to it before posting.

A consistent branded hashtag across your posts also helps your own audience find your training content in one place.

Step 3: Post where your audience is

Reels and TikTok are built around motion, so an AI video, GPS route video, or elevation video fits the format naturally. Stories are useful for a quick same-day finish-line share while the high is fresh. Save feed posts for the creations you want people to revisit.

Keep a consistent look

Accounts that grow tend to look like themselves. Set your style once in ActivArt and every creation carries the same signature, so your grid feels intentional. Add your club or sponsor logo and your brand travels with every post.

Share while it is fresh

The best time to post is right after you finish, when the effort is still raw and your audience is most likely to engage. ActivArt can notify you the moment a new activity is detected, so you can create and share in a couple of taps before the moment passes.
