How to put your club crest on every member’s photos

Clubs get noticed when their members look like a club. A race weekend where twenty people post twenty photos, each with the same crest in the same corner, does more for a running or cycling club than any account the club runs itself. The hard part has always been getting everyone to do it. This setup takes one person about ten minutes.
Why one shared crest beats everyone editing their own
Ask members to add the club logo themselves and you get a dozen versions: different files, different sizes, some on the left, some over a face, some saved from the website with a white box around them. It reads as effort, not identity.
When one person prepares the logo and everyone imports the same file, the posts start to look related. People who see two or three of them in a week learn the badge, and that is how a club gets asked about at the next race.
Start with a logo file that works on photos
A crest that looks fine on a website can disappear on a photo. Use a PNG with a transparent background, so the badge sits on the scene instead of inside a white square, and ask whoever made the club logo for a large export rather than saving it from a web page.
Simple beats detailed. The logo is shown at a fraction of the photo’s width, so fine text and thin outlines turn to mush. If the club has a simplified badge for kit or social avatars, that is usually the right one.
| Problem | What it looks like | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| JPEG, no transparency | A white or coloured box around the crest | Export a PNG with a transparent background |
| Saved from a web page | Soft, blocky edges | Ask for the original or a large export |
| Thin lines and small text | Unreadable at overlay size | Use the simplified badge |
| Dark logo, no outline | Vanishes on dark photos | Keep a light version as a second logo |
Set it up once in ActivArt
Open Settings → Logo Overlays and add the logo from your gallery. If your club is on Strava and Strava is connected directly as your activity source, you can skip the file entirely: choose From Strava Club and ActivArt lists the crest of every club you have joined. Intervals.icu groups work the same way.
Pick a corner and a size and check the preview. You can keep up to 10 logos and switch each one on or off, so the club crest and a personal sponsor can live side by side without both going on every post.
Send it to the club
Tap Share next to the logo. ActivArt creates a link you can post in WhatsApp, the club’s group chat or anywhere else. A member who opens it on their phone gets the logo added to their own logo slots in one tap. Anyone who does not have ActivArt yet sees the logo with download links, and can open the link again once the app is installed.
The link stays valid while people keep importing it. If it has gone quiet for a day and someone new joins, share it again.
Agree on the corner in the same message
The link carries the logo, not its placement. An imported logo starts in the bottom-right corner, so if the club wants it elsewhere, say so when you post the link. Bottom left is a good default: on the free plan the ActivArt mark sits in the bottom-right corner and moves up above any logo there, so a crest on the left keeps that corner uncluttered.
Agree on a size too. Anything from a discreet mark to a bold badge works, as long as everyone uses the same one.
Sponsors and kit partners
If the club has a sponsor, share their logo as a second link and give it a different corner, usually smaller than the crest. Check the sponsor’s own guidance on where and how their mark may appear before asking members to use it.
Sponsored athletes can keep their personal sponsors in separate slots and turn them on only for the posts the deal covers.
Race day
Not every race photo needs to become art. For the finish-line photos you want to post as they are, choose Apply Logos Only and the crest goes on the original photos in one pass. For the shot worth more than that, create art from the race with your time and distance in the scene, and the logo goes on automatically.
Either way, the logo is added after everything else, so it stays crisp at the size you chose.
